Key Lab MKII first encoder stuck during playback
« on: April 15, 2019, 02:25:56 am »
My MKii's first encoder will not change the value of whatever parameter it is assigned to during DAW playback. For example, I have the Keylab controlling an instance of Analog Lab in Ableton. When playing the synth with the transport going (i.e. recording) adjusting the first encoder has no effect on whatever parameter it is controlling in the Analog Lab. Everything works normally when the DAW is not playing. All the other encoders work fine during playback.

Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be?

Hey Schup,

In midi Control center check that you are configured for your DAW and then also look at the mapping for that encoder by clicking on it and then look at the settings it may be set incorrectly.

I've got the same problem with my Keylab MK2, also the first encoder/knob, it's flimsy and not working properly feels like there is some loose connection. also, the c key before the global d is half working i need to press really hard to make it work. It's 2-month-old and has been like that from the beginning, I'm very careful with my instruments, don't smoke etc and only use it twice a month at home. I did try al settings in midi control center.
Is there any way i can repair it my self like cleaning behind the c key because I've of cause threw the box out the day I've received the keyboard so it's going to be difficult to send it back.

it...has been like that from the beginning,
Irrespective of your country, you will almost certainly have consumer rights entitling you to a repair or replacement within 12 months of purchase. But it would have been much easier had you returned it as soon as you realised it was faulty, which according to your post, you knew from the beginning. For a start you would will still have had the box.

People post up on here asking for assistance with products which are obviously physically faulty or malfunctioning. They are very welcome to post and ask for advice (of course), but I never quite understand why they don't just march the product back to the store.
