TR909-like Step sequencer
« on: May 25, 2014, 07:00:40 pm »
I'm looking for a hardware sequencer that allows to do step sequencing like on a TR909 :

1/ Choose instrument (Bass drum, Snare drum, Low tom, etc.)
2/ Then enable/disable some steps in the 16 steps
(Repeat 1/ and 2/ for all the instruments)

==> This means that you can have polyphony   (each instrument = one MIDI note,    and as long as it's possible to have kick and snare at the same time,   the sequencer needs to be able to trig a C and a C# at the same time! => polyphony).

Is this possible with Beatstep ?

It's not, currently, but I imagine it'd be quite interesting, stylistically, to get into the world of monophonic drum production like in some of Autechre's early-mid period releases.
