Ideal Midi controller for CS 80
« Reply #15 on: November 22, 2003, 03:23:44 pm »
OK- I have gotten ahold of a Generalmusic S3 for use as a controller, and it is INCREDIBLE. The polyaftertouch works very well, and is easily controllable. Even better, there are 7 assignable sliders which goes a long way toward getting that live functionality as with a CS-80(!). Finally, there is room on the keyboard to easily mount an Expressionmate! So now I have a couple of requests:

1) would it be possible to have the Ribbon Controller on the CS-80V respond exactly like the CS-80 ribbon did? Zero touch point, and be able to drive the oscillators subsonic? I understand why it was implemented to respond to pitch bend, but it would be great to have the option for those with access to a ribbon controller.

2) while you are at it, can you make the control of the ribbon assignable? The Alesis Andromeda ribbon does not send pitchbend messages, but it can be assigned to send 14-bit MIDI control messages (MSB/LSB format).

So far, I am pretty thrilled, thanks Arturia!
