ARP/SEQ Buttons do not work reliably
« on: December 28, 2022, 11:50:49 am »
Hi,
I have a strange issue with the SEQ Button and a couple of Seq Step Buttons not triggering reliably.

SEQ Button often triggers multiple times, which is rather restarting sequence than stopping it.

Button surface is clean, fingers are not too dry and it does not change behaviour with pressing longer/shorter, center or off center or if the button press is firm or not.

Is this a software issue with the latest firmware or does it sound like a HW issue?

Thanks...

Hello Tom Schuh
I'm sorry to hear that.
Could you try resetting the prefs in Utility/Misc/Reset settings and tell me if that helps?
Kind regards.

(Edit: The edits are just to change to Tom's new username :) )

Hi Matthieu,

thanks for your swift reply and suggestion.

Reset settings did not change anything unfortunately.

It looks like the faulty "buttons" are triggering multiple times, I would say at 50% of the time. Holding the Play/Stop button in SEQ or ARP Mode constantly triggers it in a varying rhythm...

I could make a video of it, easier to see than to describe...

Totally ruins the sequencer user experience,-)

The rest of this Synth is amazing and works without any issue.

Thanks and Kind Regards, Tom

Hello Tom Schuh
Yes i also have the issue when i hold the play button.
I recommend that you never hold any touchstrip buttons (except ratchet and repeat).
All the buttons are toggle button and maybe holding them is not the intended use.
I have forwarded the issue to the devs so we will investigate on this.
Again, sorry for the inconvenience.
Best.

Hi Mathieu, even if I quickly tap on Play/Stop in 5 to 6 out of ten it does not stop or start but does a double trigger (so state is unchanged, sometimes plays a short sound)...

Can't believe this is normal behavior and I would be the first to notice...

Seems to work OK in your arpeggiator/sequencer YouTube Tutorial...

Tanks again, Tom

Hi again Tom Schuh
Can you try different settings in Utility/Controls/Touch Button Sens and tell me if that helps?
Thanks!

Hi again Matthieu,

That was a good one;-) Medium and Hi sensitivity work much better for me than the default Low setting…

Sorry that I didn’t find this setting myself.

Thanks a lot, cheers, Tom
