Forum Sections For New Instruments/Effects ?
« on: May 13, 2022, 04:07:51 pm »
Each time new instruments/effects are released it seems like there is a lag time until sections for those instruments/effects are added to the forum.

It would be nice if adding the new forum sections could be coordinated with the product release, so that we can post our questions/comments in the appropriate section for each product.

For example, I had to post a bug report for the KORG MS-20 under the general V9 forum since there isn't a forum section for the KORG MS-20 yet.

Hi lunker,

Don't you have access to this: https://forum.arturia.com/index.php?board=526.0 ?

Thanks for the fast reply!

No, I don't have access to that link.  When I click on it, it says "The topic or board you are looking for appears to be either missing or off limits to you."

So I guess maybe the problem isn't that the forum sections for new products aren't set up yet; the problem is that giving all users access to those sections hasn't happened yet.

I presume that since I don’t see that board in the list of forums, access privileges also control visibility of the boards on the main forum page, which is why I don’t see them.

I feel somewhat better about this.  I was thinking that Arturia didn’t have the foresight to set up forums for new products, but it looks like they just haven’t made them available to everyone yet.

Yes it look like it's a technical error. I think Arturia know about it allready.
There are forums for all VC9 instruments, if one have access to them.

Good suggestion!  I don't see the new forums with Firefox (my default browser on PC) or Safari (on iPhone), but I do see them with Microsoft Edge (PC).

Then you at least have the Edge on Windows option.
But it's strange.
I have access to the new forums with Firefox on Windows 10. It's not my default browser, but i use it.
Also i have access with Safari on my iPhone.

Are your Firefox, Safari and your OSs updated?

Thank you for paying attention to this topic.

I see what's going on now ...

I was logged into my "lunker" forum account in both Firefox and Safari, and I couldn't see the forums for the new instruments.

When I opened the forum in Edge, I wasn't logged into my forum account yet, and I could see the new forums.  But as soon as I logged into my forum account, the new forums disappeared.  And if I log out of the forum in Firefox or Safari, the forums for the new instruments become visible.

If I log out of the forum, and then go inside one of the KORG MS-20 child forums, I get this message when I try to log into my account from inside the child forum:

"The topic or board you are looking for appears to be either missing or off limits to you."

So it appears that somehow the new forums are off limits to my account.  I don't think I have done anything to get on Arturia's black list (and why would they hide only the new forums from me???), so I suspect that the new forums are not open to all accounts yet.  Were they only open to beta testers and super-users during the pre-release period, and they just need to be activated for all users?  Just guessing ...

I recall this same problem with the "3 Filters FX" and "3 Preamps" packages.  It took several weeks for their forums to show up after they were released.  I thought it was just an oversight that Arturia didn't create those forums right away, but now it seems that maybe they were there and I just didn't have access to see them right away.

I also think it's good to find out what's going on.

In the past some forums was'nt up before some time after the product release, - i believe. Or perhaps i did'nt have access.
I'm still a (longtime) active user, not beta testing or doing or anything else for Arturia, except i report issues and help out a lot in the forums, when the help is'nt being messed up.

Just Looged into my account on Firefox. That work fine here. I assume it's the same on my Phone.

Look like it's an issue with logins/ accounts then.

Thanks for your report. Perhaps that help Arturia to get it fixed.

I'm having the exact same issue. I can only see certain subforums when I'm logged out.

I can't mentally conceive of a scenario where it would take this long to fix a bug that Arturia seems to have known about for quite some time, since people have complained about the SQ80 subforum (which has existed since September 15th if not earlier) not being visible.

Since I still can't access the new sub-forums, I submitted a support ticket for this problem.  Hopefully it will get resolved soon.

It is ticket # 782869 if any of the moderators are interested in knowing the ticket number.

The problem has been resolved (at least for me).

Hopefully everyone else has access to the new sub-forum sections now.

Big shout of thanks to Guillaume @ Arturia Support for helping fix this!
