HELP setting up new Keylab 88 mkii!
« on: March 26, 2021, 02:18:35 am »
Hey all, new here. I just got my 88 mkii the other day, I have it connected USB and running through my computer speakers just fine.

So, here's what I'm dealing with. I just received my Focusrite 2i4 2nd Gen and KRK Rokit 5 G4's in the mail.
Now, should I connect the keylab to the Focusrite by midi in's and outs, and just use an adapter to power the Keylab? Or will it still run through the interface and bypass the sound card if I leave the Keylab plugged in to the PC?

Thanks for any help.

As far as I know, there's no advantage to connecting through your audio interface using MIDI. It adds an extra step in the signal chain while removing all the extra information that can be transmitted through USB, such as Analog Lab navigation and DAW controls. Use the MIDI of the audio interface if you have a device that only has MIDI connections.
