No Sound
« on: January 30, 2021, 10:31:59 am »
Hi,

I cannot get a new Keylab II to play sound in Analog 4. I can see the keys moving on the virtual keyboard but neither the virtual keyboard nor the keylab produce any sound on my laptop.

I have checked that,

The Keylab is selected as the input device on AL4
The speakers work on my laptop (runs on Win 10 64 bit)
The firmware is at the latest version

I have also restarted both devices.

Any guidance would be appreciated it.

Keylab doesn't produce sound. It is a MIDI controller, i.e. it sends note on/note off messages. As you can see the virtual keys moving in AL4 when you press keys on the Keylab that indicates that Keylab is working correctly.

Have you selected an Audio Device in Analog Lab? If you are just using the built-in soundcard of your laptop you may need to install something like Asio4All (https://www.asio4all.org/)

Downloading the ASIO drivers worked for me and I finally have sound!

I am new to this so would not have discovered this without your support.

Thanks for responding and helping me out!

OMG Windows users and their darned ASIO drivers...can't believe this is still a thing 10 years after I dumped PCs. Glad you got it sorted though.
