I was pleasantly surprised that my new Keylab 49 Mkii controller powered up fine when I connected it to my iPad Air 3 without an external power source. Just letting anyone know. I seriously didn't think it would. When I was researching, I looked on the Arturia site and they say you do need an external power source with an iPad. Don't know about a regular iPad, but an iPad Air 3 worked great!
