Some time ago I wrote to JeanMichel (Blanchet) telling him I had to restrain myself from over-production because with this synth I feel like a hen on steroids :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen: ...anyway I made another bunch of sounds which maybe will see the light when new CS-80V version will be out...I focused myself on pads and I dedicated a section for some "specific" Vangelis sounds where presets aren't involved ( well very few to tell the truth !!! )

About the "vocal" presets: l learned how to program them with an old study of about 50 years ago: a table was created explaining how to create vowels from A tu U with a set of 3 parallel bandpass filters at specific frequencies: well , the guys at Roland might have read that table too when deciding to come off with VP-330 choir pad ( by which I was inspired...)

Xavier made me listen these vocal patches some time ago..
I have to say that I was very impressed by the formants and I can't beleive that it was coming from the CS-80 V.
I am a big fan of electronic choir pads, so I was very happy !!

I'm glad you like the choir pads! I took the freq formants by an old study chart, made more than 50years ago which was at the base of voice synthesis and vocoding ( for telephones ,btw :wink: ) and which is avaliable also as a table at

My model was the beloved Roland VP-330 vocoder-pad machine (also this guy's :wink: ) and, even if it had a rather different structure ( a complex waveform modulated by a serial BPF + BPF ) and even cutting out the sweet Dimension-D sounding Ensemble effect I was impressed too :wink:
