Hey Zeitwand,
the Drumbrute is an analog machine, which means the instruments are generated with electronic circuits akin to a Roland TR 808 or most instruments on a Roland TR 909 (except the Hihats, Cymbals) - not samples, like in a drum sampler like the electribe.
The upside is that analog drums can be extremelý beefy and cool-sounding if you record and process them right, and can give you lots of fun knobs to tweak the sound on the spot - like on the drumbrute. The downside is that you can't exchange a complete set of sound charactaristics just like if you load another sample.
If I were you, I'd go a different route about discovering new 'hidden' sounds in the drumbrute: get some guitar pedals, e.g. a Electro Harmonix Crayon, (Bass) Soul Food or the Stereo Memory man w Hazarai, or an Eventide TimeFactor / Space etc - pick them up second hand if you find them too expensive. There are many others - I just name these because they work well for me.
Then run a single voice or the mix output through them and voila - a whole world of new sounds.
Hope this helps as an inspiration!
