Sustain Pedal not Sustaining outside activated Arp/Seq

I don`t find a way to simply hold pressed notes with my sutain pedal connected - is there no such function in the Keystep?
Tried different pedals, they all work in Arp/Seq mode, but not outside...

What am I doing wrong?
