Midi Import
« on: November 19, 2017, 12:48:05 pm »
Try as I might I find there is no way to import an existing midi file into the Spark2 software (just export what is already there). This leads to the crazy situation where I have a program that has all the features to edit a midi file but no way of getting the file in there in the first place. Am I missing something?

You can simply put the MIDI track into your DAW, and then THAT will trigger and play the Spark software. Remember to turn off "Host" and make sure "Tempo" is on. .... The latter syncs Spark to the BPM of the DAW, and the former starts playback in Spark when playback in the DAW starts. You don't want that to happen (and, frankly, if using MIDI files in the DAW to drive Spark, you don't technically need "Tempo" on either. But it doesn't hurt.)
I hope that helps. :D
Having "Host" on has confused me several times, when using MIDI to trigger Spark and Spark has its own patterns in it already. The drums get all doubled up LOL. Now I know, and look there when I hear something wrong.
