Rich creamy lead
« on: October 18, 2017, 01:34:14 pm »
Having a bit of difficulty dialing in a rich creamy mood style lead, I tried a few waveforms but can't seem to come close

Much of that sound in the video is in the distortion and delay. The video also goes through many variations.

Don't know if it's exactly what you're after, but below is a patch with a lead style sound as a starting point. It's quite simple: 3 oscillators with saw tooth waves, a bit of sub osc on one of them and full levels, then some drive in the filter. It uses the delay to get some of that mood from the video. Use aftertouch for vibrato and the modwheel to mellow out the sound. Hit the Glide button to get portamento with legato playing. The Steiner Parker filter is ready to be brought in by turning up Steiner Out. Also use Ladder Out to mix and match the flavours from the two filters. Turn down the oscillator levels and the filter Drives for a less saturated and softer sound.

Edit: I just tried with a distortion pedal in the insert on the MartrixBrute - it worked :)
