Beatstep and Microgranny trigger

Hi,
Trying to get the Beatstep to trigger the 6 grain buttons on my Bastl Microgranny, as it is possible on my Keystep, and (apparently) the BSP.
Am I seeing things correctly that the Beatstep only goes down to a C1 note, or am I missing something obvious (highly probable)?
Looks like I need the lowest note to be set at C-2 to trigger the Microgranny grains. Tried the encoders, tried editing in the sequence editor.
Anyone have any luck with this?
