Modify step velocity from Drumbrute (Not MCC)
« on: July 08, 2017, 12:31:28 am »
Is it possible to change step velocity from the Drumbrute itself and not the software?

Thanks.

Hi cuba1956,
At the moment there is no way to do it on the DrumBrute but you can change a Step to be accented or not. This changes the velocity.
Setting accent set velocity to 127
Unsetting accent:
  • set velocity to 100 if Velocity threshold parameter (in the MCC) > 100
  • set velocity to "Velocity threshold parameter - 1" otherwise

Best,
Y.

Thanks for the answer. Do you have any plans of adding this? Similar to moving the timing of the step +/-50% would be nice to have. I like using ghost notes and rolls with some random IDM patterns and having this option on the Drumbrute itslef would make me love my unit even more. :-)

Also I use Drumbrute to trigger my 2Box module and it works pretty awesome, but to make it feel a bit more lively, it would help to add some randomness to velocity of each step. For example, hold the step, add randomness to velocity with random pot and top velocity with swing pot. Not sure how moving the step +/-50% is used by others, but if necessary it can be triggered with shift or something. To me it seems like a bit of controlled randomness will add a lot to the beats.

I don't know if it would be added in the future, but I suggest you to open a ticket in support area, and ask for your new features.

Best,
Y.

Thank you for the suggestion. Can you point me to a specific location? I struggle to find the link you mention.
