I found a nifty little utility that uses your soundcard driver to bypass the windows delay that ASIO was designed to avoid, without needing ASIO capability on your soundcard.
The utility is called ASIO4ALL and can be downloaded free from
www.asio4all.com. It worked wonders with my CS-80V and I can now play "live" rather than having to compose MIDI files to get useable tracks from it.
It's amazing what a difference it makes. It's gone from a latency of around 150ms to around 10 or 20ms.
I'm not sure if it works on every single card, but I get the impression that if you have a working driver, it'll find it and use it.
