Oscillator question
« on: December 12, 2016, 10:48:10 pm »
I just got a minilab mk2 to rock my mini v3!
I want to adjust knobs on the minilab to adjust the pitch on oscilators 2 and 3, but not the step tuning (left click.) I want to be able to adjust the fine tuning (right click) with the minilab. How do I set this up?
Thanks in advance!

You can't control those parameters in Analog Lab 2.
If i understand you correct, then you have Mini V3. If so then you can edit those parameters thru Analog Lab if you open your Mini V3 inside Analog Lab 2 (Please refere to ANalog Lab manual section "3.4.3 Editing a preset") or open Mini V3 by it self outside Analog Lab 2 and save the preset before you continue in Analog Lab 2.

You can find the manuals here: https://www.arturia.com/support/updates&manuals

I'm sorry I don't understand your reply!
I wasn't able to find any information in the manuals for the miniv3, the minilab, or the analog lab about how to use the minilab to adjust fine tuning on the oscillator instead of course tuning.
Someone posted the same question in june
http://forum.arturia.com/index.php?topic=87766.0
and the reply was that function would be added soon. Has it been?

Yes you can control the parameters on Mini Vs knobs. If you use your mouse then left click control fine tune in Mini V3.

I think i understood you used Analog Lab too. I read Mini Lab wrong. Sorry.
In my DAW Mini Vs semitone parameter is availble for Midi learn when left clicking, and the fine tune using Shif +left click.
If Mini Lab use Midi learn as i think it does, then it should be possible to assign the parameters this way, like you assign any other parameter.

Be sure you have the latest MINI V3 update.

Hope this helps.

Hi Djsportsball and LBH,

Mapping the fine tune from the miniV3 on your minilab mkII works like this :

If you have the full version of mini V3 :
open it
click on the midi din icon up right on the screen
you'll see knobs turning purple or red
to map fine tuning for osc 2 or osc 3 , you have to press shift, hold it, and click of the OSC2/3 coarse knob

In the case of the mini v3 inside analog lab 2 , the osc2/3 coarse isn't available directly on Analog lab 2 GUI ( when you click on the name under a knob to change the parameter)
To have it , you have to be able to open the Mini V3 GUI inside analog lab 2. It requires to have a MINI V3 license. If you don't have it, unfortunately , this mapping will simply be impossible.

If you manage to open miniV3 GUI inside analog lab 2, once opened click on the "chain" icon right of the upper toolbar
from there you'll see analog lab 2 Gui knobs turn green.
click on one of these green knobs , it will turn red, and you'll see MINI V3 gui knobs turn blue (and some turn red) .
Right click on OSC2/OSC3 coarse.
Fine tuning will be mapped on the desired knob of your your minilab MKII

hope it  helps,

Best,
