ipad -> camera kit -> keystep -> MIDI out

Has anyone succesfuly used the Keystep with an ipad? Not to control the ipad itself but to route midi from an ipad sequencer/controller to the MIDI out on the keystep.

I'v had no sucess. After connecting the camera kit I see the keystep appear as a available MIDI out, but nothing seems to go through the Keystep output.

Someone said on FB groupe that  you have to activate the MIDI thru for this to work.
Anyone from Arturia can confirm this?

So it works properly when MIDI is set to THRU in the MIDI control center.
Around page 62 in the Manual, sad thing is the manual is not explicit about this also acting as a MIDI out for USB MIDI signals.

Apart from notes and such, I have tested control changes and command changes and it works, I did not try Sysex yet.
