Setting the initial value of a CC knob (in absolute mode)

Hy guys,
Is there a way to set the initial value of a CC knob (in absolute mode) ? I tried sending MIDI CC to the knob (MIDI IN of the BeatStep) but it does not seem to work. By initial value I mean the cc value that will be send when the knob is first turned
I found this on the NET about the SYSEX of the BeatStep :
http://www.untergeek.de/2014/11/taming-arturias-beatstep-sysex-codes-for-programming-via-ipad/
but it does not mention how to set the initial value ( may be because it is to obvious
)
I want to use the BeatStep in my MidyAX project (MIDI controllers piloting the AXE-FX guitar amp simulator) :
