BSP connected to Korg MS20 and Alesis HR16B
« on: July 08, 2016, 11:42:57 am »
Hi,

My BSP is connected to my Korg MS20 synth (original from '78) with the CV and Gate outputs from sequencer 1. I've connected everything according to the Arturia PDF, where this connection is described. The Alesis HR 16B drumcomputer is connected from the BSP MIDI out to the Alesis MIDI input. When I select the "drum sequence" part, it sends midi notes to the Alesis and I can control this machine without a problem. When "sequencer 1" is selected, I can control the MS20... BUT... Apparently, I also send midi notes to the Alesis drumcomputer because I hear a clap, kick, hihat...
I've already selected another midi channel for the sequencer 1, but this does not help..

Can I somewhere turn the midi off for sequencer one, so it only sends CV & Gate midi.

Thanks in advance,
Frederik (BELGIUM)

I think you need to set the drum computer to only recieve midi channel 10 not 00 (omni = all channels)

Edit: typo

Hi StutzJr,

I've tried to change the midi-channel on the Alesis to channel 5, the standard drum midi-channel of the BSP, and now it works! Thanks a lot for the help!!!

Grtz,
Frederik.
