Creating out of time sequences?
« on: June 28, 2016, 02:12:24 am »
I'm wondering if it is at all possible to get sequencer 1 and 2 out of sync. For example, I would like to have the same 8 step sequence running on seq 1 and 2. If I set seq 2's last step to 7, then once it resets, set it back to 8 so that seq 1 would start on step 1 and seq 2 would start on step 2. Basically Steve Reich's "phasing" technique. Is there any option for this in the MIDI Control Centre I'm missing, or is this just not possible on this device?

I 'm with you... exactly...  it's a  beautiful thing....... +1 here for requesting this feature

Would it work by having a variable starting note?....like the programmable last step....but for the start... so it retains its pattern length and  the last note shifts a step later when you shift the sarting note a step later?

Or easier....just step the individual sequence ahead in time

I'm not sure if I'm thinking about this correctly...but that Steve Reich technique is quite hypnotising....like a Martin Escher painting of music... and I would love to try it
