BSP Slaved by Yarns Module...
« on: August 20, 2015, 04:26:38 am »
Hi!!

When I'm in internal sync, the gates behaves normally but when the BSP is clocked by my Modular(Yarns module) only, no gates happens...
Power issues? Not enough power? I use a iPhone power adapter... It does that when I'm powering from my Mac Book Pro. It works when slaved to miditho... ???

Any ideas?
Thanx!

I've got a yarns, I can test it out on mine - is it midi out sync to the bsp or analogue clock from yarns that stops gates?

When midi slaved from yarns it works great. When slaved from Yarn's analogue clock, the notes (cv) works but no gates comes out. Thanx for testing it!

yeah, it's buggy alright. like, really buggy! here's what I found:

gates on both the cv and midi stay wide open (no note off) unless you set swing to something (51 will do). with swing set to 50, the midi synth I had on seq 2 wouldn't even mute (again, no note off).

BUT, with swing on 51 midi gates seem to be trigger only, ie exceedingly fast. a synth with no release just sounds like clicks. Setting TIEs works to elongate the notes, but then you can't play consecutive 16ths.

finally, if you leave a midi channel on swing 50, not only will you get no note offs but its one 16th out of sync with any swung tracks.

analogue clocking is a bit of a mess at the moment is my conclusion

edit: actually on further looking: the issue with midi being triggers also occurs on the cv. unless a note is tied it's a v. short trigger (with swing applied)

Anyone with some modular:  would you care to test analogue sync in as well please?

Set swing to 50, abd see how the sequencer gate outs behave?
Cheers

(Also wiuld love to hear from arturia!)

Doesn't have to be with yarns, any analogue clock...

Same problem here !
The analog gate output doesn't work properly when sync in is 1 step but is correct in 24 ppq or 48 ppq.
Test with several source...
One month without firmware update !..hey guys the holidays are over  8)

thanks very much ericpercy by the way, at least I can use some sort of sync now.

it's annoying for me because I want to delay the yarns clock to allow better sync with another piece of gear, which isn't possible with a clock that fast.

the good news for you jenz is you can set yarns clock output divider to 96 and sync with bsp in 24ppq mode
