which material for live and studio
« on: August 12, 2015, 11:33:11 am »
Dear all,

Is anybody can help me to choose between differents arturia machines for live and studio, essentially for electronic music (techno, vintage electro, dubstep..)

I'm a novice and I don't know which material I need to start..

I'm interested by the controller BeatStep Pro, by Spark Creative Drum Machine and by the MiniBrute and his exciting arpeggiator.

Thank you in advance for your response.

Best regards,

Get Analog Lab. It will give you a decent impression of the various e-synths by Arturia. 6000+ presets with a limited number of tweaking options, which is good if you're a novice. If you find a synth that you really like, you can go for its stand-alone version, which has lots and lots of further tweaking options.

ok, thank you for your answer.
I've already tried the demo, and it's really cool.

In the hardware section,
What do you think about the new BeatStep Pro and the Minibrute ?

Do you think that if I buy for exemple V collection, BeatStep Pro and Minibrute it is a good compromise ?

I think you're aiming a bit too high for a novice.
Instead of the entire V-collection you could also immerse yourself into the Analog Classics package, which will keep you busy for quite a while (if you think that Analog Lab doesn't already suit your creative needs).
Minibrute is a synth in its own right and as far as I know the Arturia synth packages require a MIDI controller like the MiniLab or KeyLab. So therefore, if you want to work with the software, go for one of those instead.
BeatStep Pro is nice, but since you're a novice, why not just start with a regular Beatstep controller? You could even work on rhythms with a more elaborate KeyLab which also has pads for controlling beats.

Thank you very much for all these details.
I think I'll follow your advice.
