analog lab midi control

Hi
Can anybody tell me if its possible to use my midi controller to change
the knobs and switches in edit mode

IE:   I have analog lab loaded as a VST  and I select a mini moog v preset
then I go in to edit mode and the vst pops up
then I select midi and try to assign a knob on my controller
but it doesn't work

 it does work in the analog lab vst itself   but that doesn't give me enough control
