Beatstep & Korg DW-6000, DW-6000 not responding to encoders
« on: April 21, 2015, 01:15:40 am »
Hey.
Anyone know why my DW-6000 would be responding to all note values but not to cc from the encoders? My DW is set to take ALL info, not just Note (paramater 82 I think). Same midi channel. WHAT'S THE DEAL. Help.

hi shiba eno i thought the dw 6000 only responded to midi SysEx messages which as far as i know the beatstep can not send have you been able to control the dw 6000 with other midi hardware using ccs

hi while searching i also found this list of cc for the dw6000

so perhaps i was wrong . also let me know how you go as i have dw6000 and was thinking about getting a beatstep or beatstep pro to control it.

nope the midi cc are just for a  crlt panel thingy which converts them to midi sysex  the dw6000 only responds to the following cc according to the manual
1 cc  pitch mod
2cc  vcf mod
7 cc volume
64cc  damper pedal
65cc  portamento switch

i have read up on dw6000 and it has problems with midi if you are not on channel one also i tested controlling dw 600 with my experiences the lab keyboard  and it work fine with cc7 so i would start there with the beatstep mapping an encoder to 7cc 0-127 channel one let me know how you go and sorry for my bad spelling and grammar  regards dog01
