Question about V-collection 4
« on: December 06, 2014, 10:00:35 am »
How much disc space is required for the installation of VC-4? Does it consume much more CPU than a stand-alone plug-in? And can someone tell me if a d/l install from the Arturia Store on one device (MacBook Pro) can later still be transferred to another one?
For me this is important in my consideration whether or not to buy it.

Hi Amalgamoth,

Sorry for the delay !
With the new Arturia Software Center you can easily transfer your license from a computer to another one.
You will have 5 activations for the Vcoll4 meaning you will be able to authorize 5 computers at the same time.

When you install Vcoll4 with the WelcomeApp you can choose the products you want to install or not.
If you install the whole Vcoll4 it will required about 7G on a MAC.

I'm not sure to understand your question about CPU consumption. Could you please explain more ?

Hi Ben, I think this might be a bit misleading to some people. 'Transfer' implies that you would move the license between machines, like the early days when you had to deactivate 1 machine to activate a new one.

With the new Arturia Software Center you can easily license up to 5 machines concurrently. :)

This is more accurate in my opinion, as you have given up to 5 activations to use whenever you like. They can be any 5 machines of your choice that has the software installed. Licenses can be deactivated at will, but as long as you don't exceed the magic number of 5, you are good to go. Sorry to nit pick :)

Merry Christmas !

Hi Ben,
The CPU question basically comes down to the question whether the processor (RAM memory) will require a higher performance. Having said that, Analog Lab and CS-80 run okay on my device, a Macbook Pro. But maybe, because the V-collection is such a big package, it might not meet the requirements for optimal performance?
Maybe I should first install the trial version to see how it goes.
Cheers!

Stuart :
You can activate up to 5 machines and remove activation on a machine and put it on another one with no problem.
So you can move activation on much more than 5 machines, but only 5 would be activated at the same time.

Amalgamoth :
This is always better to test with demo version to check if your OS (the young Yosemite!) and DAW are working with no problems with VC4.

Isn't that what I said. 5 machines concurrently. Anyway, get yourself home Ben, it's Christmas Eve :)
