I was amazed to read once that Pete Townsend had created the cool synth sound in this song by simply running His distorted guitar through an ARP 2600 filter / auto-pan. This Origin multi is pretty close but could easily be modified to take external guitar input. I used the SEM filter to get closer to the tonal quality of His guitar (wasn't able to quite get there with the other filters).
If you dont care for The Who, you might still like the handclap program
- macro slot1: seq2 is for trigger/panning/accent, seq1 is just the intro pattern, seq3 is main pattern (just bass note, chords are played manually). mod wheel morphs to the sound used in quieter passages
- macro slot 2: stereo handclaps
- macro slot 3: simple drum pattern (Keith Moon is hard to program)
Have fun
