What is going on with the LFO's?!
« on: June 27, 2012, 06:13:41 pm »
Apparently no one knows. I posted this question in the modular v forum but no one has responded. If you do a web search this question has been floating around since 2009 without an answer.

2 major things I have encoundered on the modular v but apparently it does this with the arp as well:

Midi sync is wonky. Just put an LFO (it is most noticeable with square on tri) on a LPF, set it to midi sync, press play several times in your DAW with the metronome on and watch what happens. No retrig. Sometimes it starts on beat 1.5 or 2 etc..

Square wave is wonky. Just put a square LFO on a LPF and you get nothing until you sweep the "manual" knob. Dont know why or what that even is.

The sections in the manual about the LFO dont mention anything unusual and describe it as being perfectly straightforward and how it would normally work on other products.

------

Now, a poster on Gearslutz after 3 years of getting nowhere, claimed without citing his sources that it just isnt possible.

This is not cool. Its like having a car without control over the speed and brakes.

For anyone who cares this problem is solved with many additional creative benefits besides by using Cable Guys Midi Shaper. Breathes new life into this incredible sounding instrument.

An LFO plugin that works on both Mac and PC.

Easy to use with good prices and support.
