V2 prophet joystick/gui issues
« on: January 13, 2010, 11:42:15 am »
Hey

Double clicking the VS joystick does NOT centre the joystick for me !!! As advertised
OSX Tiger / Standalone / Intel Mac

The prophet sounds just as good as before. Wonderful.

Unfortunately it doesn't look so good
1) There are green mask jaggies top/bottom on the pitch and mod wheels (try toggle between the vs mode (this is okay) and p5 or hybrid mode (green mask pixels)

2) the GUI bar at top is unhelpfully spaced - there is not enough room for preset names and the drop down icon is unclear and space consuming - there's also too much crammed into the bar (who needs the text 'play mode' at the expense of clear patch names!) - The font should be smaller or the width larger imho
I was hoping this GUI error was limited to the MMV2 - but it is now spoiling the P5 too ! Shame

3) morphing cursor is so unclear

4) Manual (english p49, bottom) refers to ctrl clicking on the soundmap presets
what does this do ? that cannot be done by just clicking ?
i can see no change - plus periodically the shift clicking does not replace the preset !

There's nothing in the manual to explain what the preference for
"Adapt preset for modulation" [on/off] "     is ??!!!!

Love it anyway and the morphing is a great addition
But how about a toggle for only showing p5 presets or vs presets etc

The best soft synth is let down by GUI niggles and attention to detail in the UI

Best s

clarification

the joystick centring by dbl-clicking works when hosting a plugin (e.g. Live)

it does *not* work when used in standalone mode (Tiger/Intel)

so this is a bug!
