Sequencing Analog Factory
« on: April 15, 2008, 03:00:48 am »
Hello,

I am impressed with the Analog Factory Demo. I am testing it if it is compatible to be sequenced with an Akai Mpc 2000XL midi sequencer/drum machine.

I noticed as I made a bassline with 2stepBD preset it sequenced and recorded splendidly. Now I thought I'd take a second sound into the sonic creation. When I went to change midi channels within Analog Factory's interface, the bassline I had going changed into the second sound.

Candidly put, it seems I can only sequence one preset sound from the program. If I wanted to record another sound I'd have to select midi channel 2 on my Mpc 2000XL, but Analog factory doesn't recognize that it's on midi channel 2. Regardless if I set Analog factory to it's midi ch. 2.

Thank you for the time taken regarding this inquiry, hopefully my understanding of these matters will find it's way.

Sincerely,

Lester Wayne Dobos

G'day Lester, unless someone else here points out something I've missed, as far I know in stand alone mode AF isn't multi timbrel, which means it can only play one sound for any given channel at a time.

Now when used within a host sequencer such as live, cubase etc. you can open multipliable instantiation's and set a different channel for each AF that you have  loaded.

Hope that helps.  8)
