Some sounds very thin
« on: November 10, 2006, 06:05:05 pm »
Hi

I just bought this so I'm using the latest version of the VS and the Syncrosoft LM. I'm finding a few of the sounds don't seem to sound right to me - I don't think this is a problem with the sound design but rather a bug - no-one would deliberately programme these sounds. For example with the first 6 Celmpads (VS/Pads) all I get is a horrible weak buzzy sound and they are all very similar. I've recorded an example - is this really how it's supposed to sound?

There are other patches too that sound like some elements are missing basically.

Specs - DELL XPS Laptop - Core duo 2x2 ghz. NI KORE audio interface. Win XP sp2

exact same problem here.

sometimes patches even sound different, when progamming a lot, you notice this:

Have a sound you like, twist a know, turn it back, sounds different then before..really strange..

Prophet V is bugfilled... alas.. love it sound, but on Dual G5 machines you can only use 1 instance, or the sound will crackle. they know it, but still no  update :(

Hi - at least it's not just my system. I thought is it my speakers? but it's the same on my headphones (and Genelecs/Sennheiser 650's). Celmpad 05 sounds the worst - I know it's not supposed to sound like it does, no self respecting sound designer would make this. I tried changing the cutoff but that makes no difference - however all these patches use the bandpass filter and I think that is what's at fault - it's not responding how it should. The High pass seems strange as well.

How this could not have been picked up before release though is strange?

Well it's over a year since I reported this bug and Arturia have not made any updates or bugfixes or even given us a definite eta on a fix or assurance it is still being worked on

- is this a record for a major company? Is this product dead? Is this forum of any value? Do Arturia even listen?

has this been fixed in the new beta?

I would love to buy the V collection, but I am a big prophet VS fan and it would be one of the main reasons for my purchase.
