Arpeggiator tempo issue
« on: August 04, 2013, 12:48:36 pm »
The tempo on the Arpeggiator is very erratic, it keeps speeding up! Even regularly using the tap tempo it's impossible to keep in time. Any ideas?  i've also experienced it crashing a good few times when using the arpeggiator.

thank you

Have you got the minibrute connected to other midi equipment?
If so disconnect  everything from the minibrute and try it again.
Do you have the latest O.S installed?

i've just downloaded the latest firmware....let see if that solves the problem.

one more question is there anyway for in 'up an down' mode in the arpeggiator for it not to repeat the end notes?

Yeah i noticed the repeat in the up and down mode of the arp. I think i cleared it by changing the arp speed rate. Not using tap tempo or the normal tempo knob but with the arp knob changinf from 8th, 16th notes etc.

firmware update should have fixed the crashes.
regarding erractic tempo, if only using Tempo knob,is it small changes, like few BPM, or can you feel drastic changes?

I'm mainly using the tap tempo....the speeding up is very noticeable. I'm trying to use it in a song at the moment....you can't get away with the tempo increase, I've tried hard to ignore it :)

Can you try to set Tempo knob to zero, then use Tap to set your tempo. Once done, can you still hear it jumping?

I'm having this issue too. I haven't upgraded the firmware yet, but I have tried turning the tempo down to a minimum, as suggested above; no luck.

The arp drifts out of step; it's noticeable after maybe 10 seconds. At first, I thought I wasn't tapping the tempo properly, or that the button wasn't responding, but it starts in sync, then moves out of step very quickly. I don't have any MIDI devices connected to the unit.

Note that in the PC editor, I have set the option to repeat the notes in the order I played them (I mention that in case that might affect things).

Also, I just tried syncing to another synth via a MIDI cable, with the MiniBrute as the slave, and the arp starts off perfectly in time there, but again drifts out of sync.  ???

Has anyone had any luck with this issue? It's frustrating that I can't sink the arp to other synths, as it drifts off tempo very quickly.

Make sure your master device is sending Midi beat clock, not the other type of MIDI sync messages, which I can't remember the name of right now.

I believe the minibrute only responds to midi beat clock; that signal is 24 ppq, and it gets the various subdivisions/shuffle settings based off of that rate.
