Hi,
we do not officially support Power PC Macs as well as Pro Tools 8.
I am very surprised that Spark can even run on a G5. Are you sure it is not an Intel Mac?
Concerning Pro tools, you can check this SOS article. It gives some really useful information, especially the RTAS Processors section.

So it's not a G5, because G5 is PPC :).
Did you check the SOS article?
