Yes, thanks. It is theoretically possible to Use virtual midi and run audio in background, I just don't know how. The manual hasn't been upgraded. A new one would be nice, or a tutorial.

Update - I tried using SoundPrism to control iMini and it works just fine. I don't know why the other apps don't.

Ditto on all the thank you and praise posts. I too have tried to use virtual MIDI to play iMini, but so far have had no luck after trying three different apps. There doesn't seem to be a background audio button anywhere in iMini, and even when I inserted iMini as an input in Auddiobus and the speaker as the output, I still couldn't get any of my apps to play it via virtual MIDI. The app will show it is connected in iMini's MIDI option page, but no notes will play. I even saw a video where iMini was being controlled by SoundPrism, so it should work with other virtual MIDI apps, right?

In order for people to believe something, it doesn't have to be logical. It only has to sound that way.

cannot play iMidi with Cubasis
« Reply #7 on: April 17, 2013, 05:25:40 pm »
I tried to control iMini 1.1 with Cubasis's virtual keyboard thru CoreMIDI and Audiobus, but iMini played no sounds. Maybe background audio function of iMini doesn't work. Where is background audio switch on iMini ?

If you install freEWI and let it run in the background you can use beatmaker 2 to control imini....

Virtual MIDI

You can play iMini thru Cubasis's virtual keyboard, with assigning MIDI connection to 'Virtual MIDI', not 'iMini'.
