Can't connect to minibrute software

Hi

First off loving the Brute!!!

I've had it for a couple of months now, but when I first plugged it in I tried to set it up with the desktop helper. When I plug it into the USB the desk top helper does not recognise it. I'm running windows 7.

Also when plugging the USB cable in. It makes a horrible noise in my daw.

No biggy as I can use midi. I would like to try and sync the arp and filter to my sequencers tempo so linking it up with the shipped software is more important

can you see it in the Windows devices manager? is it marked is functional or faulty?
