Using Windows 8 for music production is not recommended!

Here is a post from the Tone2 Forum written by an admin:

In general we do not recommend Win8 as an OS for audio production. Many companies still have not provided drivers and some older hardware might never be updated to be win8 compatible.
The Metro Interface currently does not provide any kind of midi interface at all.

We recommend that you stick with Windows XP or use Windows 7 Professional (64 bit).

Hi Manuel,

I appreciate your response to my question. I find it hard to believe that music production companies would not foresee the integration and implementation of their products with the latest OS systems across the board. Let alone the fact that many of the earlier versions of Windows(xp,7)  are going to be phased out.

Arturia should re-label their products as non-compatible or not recommended  with Windows 8. I don't think that Microsoft would like to be left out in the music business industry.

One of the leading DAWs companies around like Cakewalk offers and believes in Windows 8 products by offering support. As of matter of fact their latest version of Sonar X2 which offers touch screen features only works with Windows 8.

Thank you!
