Can't rename using numbers?
« on: February 20, 2006, 10:58:18 pm »
I can rename new presets when "saving as", but I can't use any numbers, so incrementing up 1-2-3,etc. is not possible.

Are we supposed to be able to use numbers & letters in naming scheme?

If not, that should be fixed.

Help please.

Hi,

Are using using spaces or any other none alphanumeric characters in your names. You can only use A-Z, a-z, 0-9 and some punctuation such as ".", "_" or "-".

So you cannot have the name "My Sound 1" as it contains spaces but you could have "My-Sound-1", "MySound1" or "My.Sound.1"

Paul.

Thanks Paul,

I'm not using any special characters. Just as you said.

ex. rexpad1

When I type rezpad1 I can't get the 1. Using the numbers in either keyboard location. Number lock on or off.

Weird!!!!

I don't have any problems saving presets. I use Cubase and MiniHost.

Are you running your plugins in Forte? Have you tried saving presets in the standalone version?

In Stand Alone Mode, I CAN use numbers in my naming of presets. But in VST host mode, in Forte, I cannot. 2600 has same problem.

Help!

Btw, Patch storage and importing/exporting on cs-80v is one of the worst I could find in the VSTi world : why not make things more easy ?

Yes, I asked it once : I think that the most important thing with a CS80 emu in this regard should be to allow a separate storage of patches for each channel while keeping the actual patch management hierarchy:

BANK  SUB-BANK  PATCH    CHANNEL-I SUBPATCH  +  CHANNEL-II SUBPATCH

 In this hierarchy the BANK and SUB-BANK should be saving all the parameters excluding the panel settings, while PATCH and channels' SUBPATCH could be saving the synth panel settings.

I think this is an important point that should be kept considered inthe update job
