Crash upon start of KSP firmware update
« on: April 30, 2023, 05:40:04 pm »
Tested on two different windows 10 laptop PCs
Tested with multiple USB cables (all with RF choke)
No USB hubs
Latest version of Arturia USB MIDI Driver
Latest version of Midi Control Center
Clean reboot before starting firmware update, no other software running or devices connected
Attempting to update Keystep Pro from 2.0.0 -> 2.0.1
Midi Control Center detected Keystep Pro
Click update button, choose KeystepPro_Firmware_Update_2_0_1_989.kspf file
Firmware Update Progress dialog briefly appears, then MCC crashes
100% consistent reproduce rate on 2 different PCs

Troubleshooting recommendations? Any log data I can capture to help resolve?

Assistance appreciated.

Hello !

Here is a link to get crash dumps on Windows => https://helgeklein.com/blog/creating-an-application-crash-dump/

Just send me the crash dump and I will check when I have the time to.

Note that, the is preferable to do that contacting our support team. They may already know the problem and/or a workaround to get it to work.
So if you haven't already done it, please also contact them :)

Cheers !

Thanks for the follow-up. Problem solved, although solution is unclear. I updated another piece of Arturia hardware (Microfreak), which worked immediately as expected. Then, went back to the Keystep Pro for one last try and it worked perfectly fine.
