Imitating the Solina in Pigments
« on: April 15, 2023, 12:47:09 am »
I know this seems silly because I have both the Solina V and Pigments.   But, I enjoy trying my best to imitate sounds of other synths in Pigments.   Often I get really close.    Pigments makes sense to me.    However, I've had trouble capturing the vibe of the Solina V in Pigments.    Do you have both those synths?   If so, check out the Solina V preset called Fooling Around.    What are some approaches you would take in Pigments to get that sound?

I've only gotten say, 50% there so far.
-I'm using 3 Sawtooth waves in the Analog engine
-Oscillator 3 īs up one octave
-Oscillator 2 and 3 have LFO 2 modulating the fine tuning; Osc 2 +0.08 / Oscillation 3. -0.08

-I'm using the Bandpass BP12 filter and modulating it's volume with OSC 3 0.07

That's kinda it so far.   It's getting there but not as close as I hoped.

What are your thoughts?

Am I using the correct wave forms and filters etc?

Should I just give up and realize that I do own the Solina V, why bother cause it can't be imitated.  : )

How would you go about it?

thanks for your help and ideas

Morris
