A few question about Pigments
« on: July 22, 2022, 10:43:56 pm »
I promise I did plenty of Googling before I decided to post this. I'm going to purchase Pigments later tonight regardless of the answers I get because after using it for a week via Splice, I fell in love and feel like it adds sonic and workflow mechanics that my other soft synths do not. Plus the UI is absolutely gorgeous. My only "concerns" have to do with the awesome Function feature.

1- Can you change the divisions of the X axis?
2- Can you add Y axis divisions?
3- Is there a way to make sure Functions modulate pitch to semitones?

I'm sorry if I missed info available about these but I swear I didn't find anything.

Thanks!

Hi,

1. The Grid is 16 divisions. But you can set up to 64 points. You have a Time parameter do this. The points aren't tied to the grid.
2. No Grid. You have a Level parameter for each point. Also keep in mind that the Scale amount have an impact on the total output from the function.
3. On Engine Pitch parameters you have Quantize functionality. It have scales and a custom setting to use. So you have more possibilities than just quantizing to semitones.

Keep in mid that Pigments also have a Sequencer with lots of functionality.
And Pigments have different scales possibilities.
Just exsperiment and look in the manual to get ideas about the possibilities.
