External keyboard via MIDI in?
« on: March 22, 2022, 10:46:55 am »
Hi

I just bought the Keystep 37 but need a bigger keybed. Is it possible to setup an external MIDI controller and use that one for seq/arp notes? I tried to connect a 49 MIDI keyboard to the MIDI IN on the Keystep, but nothing. Tried another 61 keyboard as well, no luck. I tried changing MIDI channels on both keyboards as well.

You'll get a straight through MIDI to CV converter but you won't get any additional functionality, such as making use of the 37's sequencer or arpeggiator. If your external keyboard does those functions then they would probably work as the Arturia device only converts those MIDI signals relating to pitch, gate and velocity.
