Sequencer/Arpeggiator - Change Preset But Retain Steps Setup

Hi Guys, first post. I'm a complete Pigments 2 newbie, synth newbie, DAW newbie - consider me an idiot (but be gentle!)

So the scenario is:
- I select an out the box preset (i.e. synth)
- I select ARP or SEQ and play about and get a nice sequence going with that synth
- I save that as a User Preset
- I then decide I actually don't like the synth sound and want to try that sequence with some of the other out the box presets

QUESTION:
- How can I change the synth preset but retain the sequence?

That's not possible.
I think a feature request excist in the feature request forum about being able to save sequences. Perhaps a request for parameter lock also excist.
