Again only 4 bars of melody possible
« on: April 18, 2020, 12:56:26 am »
can please any person in the world explain to me, why ARTURIA, ELEKTRON & Co only give us 4 bar sequences,
which when changed from one to the next, cut long notes?

do in there world longer melodies not exist? at least up to 32 bars?

i really would love to understand this...

you could chain some patterns befor recording. That way you will get longer sequences.
Or turn down the step lenght to 1/4 and record unquantized. What do you say, does that help?
cheers Lorenz

no, it does not, because with pattern chaining, overlapping notes get cut.
you cannot make long melody lines.
that's the problem.

and i really would L O V E to understand, why companies still limit to 4 bars in 2020.

why not at least 32bars or 64 and let US decide, what we compose?

the DELUGE groovebox allows unlimited bars. that guy is forward thinking in so many ways...

I quite agree, why do manufacturers still to this day refuse to advance their hardware to a decent degree?
I would be happy with 16 bars.

It would be great to see this keyboard mightily expanded to include a synth and sampling with synthesis. Maybe in about 50 years we'll get the sort of music tech we actually want!

I quite don't understand why the previous answer doesn't help you...?

You can have 16 Bars if you want : Use the unquantized, and the 1/4 time division and you have 16bars. hurra !

You can buy this, it is called SYNTHSTROM DELUGE.

But i (like many others) only am asking for a very basic thing: to have enough bars to compose long melody lines.

Maybe Arturia has run out of memory, since they also only offer limited sequencer pages and, even worse, only 256 patch programs for the Matrixbrute.

I find it strange as well, I mean it's 2020 and we paid 400 for it, is memory an issue/so expensive these days?
