8pre issue
« on: April 16, 2020, 12:08:09 am »
Hi guys,

I'm having real trouble with my Audiofuse 8pre.
So here is the deal:
1.Gain set to 0
2.DI Guitar is hitting -2db or clipping
3.XLR microphone -2db or clipping
4.TRS -2db or clipping

It's driving me crazy!  ::)

I have contacted Arturia support however I have been told to use PAD...
When I use PAD I need to crank the preamp to 100% - Pointless

If it's not going to be sorted by tomorrow I have to return it and get Focusrite which I don't really want to do but I'm being forced to do it  ???

Anyone else had same issue?

Hi,

I have no issue with mine.

Note that depending of your guitar it can vary quite a lot, I touch -12dB versus -24dB depending of which one I use.
What guitar are you using ? If it has a preamp it can quickly clip without PAD.
This is not related but when connecting an electric guitar you should enable INST.

4: TRS => What have you plugged to the TRS ?

If you not satisfied with your current levels, you can also use the AFCC to adjust the levels you want without using the analog knob of the interface.

I only use low to medium output pickups. I have tried many different guitars and cables.
Same thing happens.
TRS cable with DI box output. Of course I did use Instrument button. But it doesn't help.
I want to replace the unit because it feels like I have got the faulty unlucky one.
