Power supply spikes
« on: April 07, 2020, 03:51:47 am »
Is anyone aware of whether it would be safe to swap out the power brick for the rackbrute for a linear power supply?

The reason I ask is because I've had two modules not saving settings after a restart, and spikes causing damage to a module and the replacement received from the manufacturer. Once they had received the module back they discovered the ADC had been fried, which also appears to have killed the replacement in the same manner.

I am wondering whether this may be down to the switching of the power supply so I am trying to rule it out prior to replacing the case with another brand.

I have checked the overall power consumption of all modules connected and it is currently well within the 80% recommended capacity.

Any thoughts or assistance would be greatly appreciated.
