There must be a simpler way to save presets.
Now you need to click 4 times, 2 differrent buttons, and move the knob to select a empty preset if necessary. How about the following as in all standard UIs:
> Press the save button > "Save Preset?" > Press the save button
- In case of having changed a predefined preset, which cannot be overridden, then propose the first free user preset (if there are none, then go to the first selectable user preset and ask if it shall be overridden)
