Why MicroFreak echoes MIDI clock on USB?
« on: January 26, 2020, 08:31:36 pm »
Trying to clean midi traffic on my DAW (Logic) centered system using Midi Monitor software. I found out that no matter what setting I choose, MicroFreak always copies midi clock from USB IN to USB OUT. No other instrument (and I have a few) does this. Even if I switch off midi THRU. Even if I select midi out to NONE (not MIDI port, not USB). This makes no sense. I don't want midi clock echoed through the system. Am I missing something or this is another 2.0.3 bug? Thanx for any insight!

Hi mantrak,

The Seq/Arp module always output clocks (it's not exactly an echo), regardless the MIDI settings. One might want clocks without MIDI notes.

I suggest you disable the "Sync" from MicroFreak Output within your DAW

Im a HUGE fan of what you guys are doing with this MF, but I have 2 friends (both long time Pro composers) who have just stopped even trying to use the Freak in their setup due to these issues.

Thanks ShapedNoise, so it's not just me. Amazed at how few people are bothered by this, so my hopes for a fix are fading...

i have been trying for a month to fit the Mf into my setup but no matter what I do it's always causing loops and problems with the rest of my gear especially when syncing it to Cubase AND external gear at the same time making it so hard to work with it. Very disappointed because it is such a cool synth to use

Yep same issue for me, caused a few days of wtf head scratching....but no it's just normal.......

other synths do not behave like this!

using LogicX one can disable/ then enable the midi port as a work around, but hoping for a fix asap arturia!! come on

Me too with this MIDI loop problem. I thought it was something I'd set wrong in the MF or in my Cubase DAW. I've no trouble with my other MIDI hardware. Come on, Arturia, fix this.
