Tube-Sta: best settings for accoustic instruments
« on: August 04, 2019, 09:08:17 pm »
I finally decided to buy the Tube-Sta. I wasn't sure if I would really benefit from all its features.
The fact that it's one of a few plugins with examples applied to a classical voice and classical piano track was a strong point.

I usually record accoustic instruments (classical guitar, digital piano, saxes, trumpet/flugel) on a mono track in Cubase Elements (no side chain available for third party).
There is no preset for piano, horn or accoustic guitar. I wonder if someone can offer tips for this kind of recording. I simply use the voice preset, with single mode. Input at 18 and output as loud as output monitoring allows (output meter doesn't get red).

I found an instructive clip on youtube where a producer tweaks the Retro STA (hardware) on a global track and on a sanre and bass track.
Hope I'l be allowed to paste the link:
