Does KeyLab 88 receive MIDI messages?
« on: May 11, 2018, 06:32:52 pm »
Hello,

I am trying to send MIDI messages into my KeyLab 88 in order to programatically light up buttons/pads. I have tried Bome MIDI Translator Pro and the API in Reaper, but so far no luck.

So I wonder if the KeyLab is actually able to receive MIDI messages?

Thanks for answers.

For everyone interested in this in the future, I've got a response from the Arturia support that this is not possible with the Keylab88.

Yes it actually is, Arturia just doesn't want to deal with the headache of tech support on it. It can receive SysEx commands. Someone a few months back demonstrated how to change the button lights. I can confirm that it works too, as I used Max/MSP to change the lights. Thanks for reminding me, I had been meaning to add that to one of my main Max patches.

Do a search for SysEx messages, you'll find it from about 3-4 months ago or so.
