CS-80C problems with Creative Asio Driver
« on: November 04, 2003, 12:23:10 pm »
Hi all,

I own a Creative Audigy 2 platinum.
When I use the CS80 (stand alone, not as a vst). I choose the Creative Asio Driver for sound.
When I do this the CS80 responds with an error (some strange characters, not a real message).
When I choose it again it all works fine. I have to do this everytime I start the CS80. I also have the same problem in the Mg Modular.
All other stand alone instruments I have (like the NI B4, Pro 53 etc) all work fine with the creative Asio driver. I only have problems with the arturia applications. Anyone else has this problem with a Creative Audigy 2 platinum. Is there a solution?

Greetings,

Rene

I know exactly what causes that and I have a possible solution:  The reason this happens is that the Audigy is "really" running at 48,000 k but the asio driver is looking for a device running at 44,000 k ,  and you get that error. You get the same exact error when using an SBLive BTW.  I solved that by using the "kxproject" asio driver for sblive which does not try to convert from 48 to 44, rather they run directly at 44k.  You can find the drivers (free) at http://www.kxproject.com  Once I installed their latest driver, the message went away and I no longer get that message... The KxProject asio drivers are awesome btw, you get great latency on an sblive at least :-)
